The TV series 'In The Night Garden' introduces preschool children to a dream-like garden featuring an assortment of fantastic toy characters. Often broadcast just before bedtimes the characters have a calming and reassuring quality making them especially popular with very young children.
In The Night Garden characters include -
Makka Pakka - a firm favourite with many children, Makka Pakka is a small round, beige coloured character who sleeps in a cave. By day he enjoys collecting and washing stones, and can be often found pushing his Og-Pog (a trolley).
Upsy Daisy - a favorite with many girls, Upsy Daisy is a happy rag doll-like character who enjoys singing and dancing. She has a bed that can move and is best friends with Igglepiggle.
Igglepiggle - a bouncy blue teddy bear-like character who despite seeming confident carries a bright red comfort blanket everywhere he goes. Unlike the other characters Igglepiggle doesn't live in the night garden, he travels to and from it on a boat using his blanket as a sail.
